The full program is still to come, but the dates are set, which makes now the useful time to plan a January base near the beach, Tedder Avenue and the tram. --- The dates are in the diary. **Magic Millions Carnival 2027** runs on the Gold Coast from **Wednesday 6 to Monday 18 January**. The organiser has confirmed the 13-day window and says further details will follow. That leaves one clear task for anyone intending to come: choose the part of the Coast where the days either side of the program will work as well as the event itself. Main Beach is a useful answer. The Crest is 350 metres from the patrolled sand, about two minutes on foot from Tedder Avenue and 300 metres from the Main Beach G:link stop. You can start with a swim, head out when the day's plans call, then come back to a quieter stretch of the Coast rather than another crowded lobby. ## Book the dates before the detail arrives January is peak Gold Coast summer. A confirmed carnival window is enough reason to settle a stay, even while the organiser finishes the 2027 program. It gives room for a few approaches: arrive for a long weekend, use the middle of the fortnight for a slower holiday, or stay across the dates that matter once entries, racing and social events are announced. The practical move is to book an apartment with a cancellation policy that works for your plans, then follow the [official Magic Millions Carnival page](https://www.magicmillions.com.au/2027carnival/) for the program. Avoid building a trip around an unannounced session, venue or time. They are the details most likely to change between an early save-the-date and January. ## A January apartment, rather than one room The Crest's apartments suit a longer January stay because the ordinary parts of a holiday stay ordinary. Every apartment has a full kitchen, dishwasher, oven, gas cooktop, full-size refrigerator and dining table. There is a separate laundry with a washing machine and dryer. Beach towels and event clothes do not need to take over the balcony chairs for a week. One-bedroom apartments are 81 square metres, with a full bathtub and a southward balcony toward Surfers Paradise. Two-bedroom apartments are 110 square metres and have two full bathrooms. Premium apartments are refurbished; Standard apartments have original, clean and well-kept styling. Both tiers carry the same useful foundations: kitchen, laundry, balcony, air-conditioning, WiFi and one secure undercover parking space. That matters when a few people are travelling together but keeping different hours. Someone can make coffee before an early start while someone else sleeps. A family can eat in between beach time and the day's plans. Friends can come back with somewhere to sit, rather than treating every meal as a booking. ## Keep the in-between days local Not every January day needs an itinerary. Main Beach gives the fortnight some breathing room. The sand is two minutes away, the outdoor pool is heated to 28°C year-round, and the indoor pool is there when an afternoon storm rolls through. Tedder Avenue is close enough for a coffee or dinner without assigning a driver. For a change of scene, the G:link runs south through Surfers Paradise toward Broadbeach and north through Southport. The Main Beach stop is 300 metres from the building. Check Translink's current service information before relying on a late-night return, particularly during a major-event period. ## Plan now, refine later The **6 to 18 January 2027** dates are confirmed. The event program is not yet published. Put the fortnight on hold, book the stay that gives your group room to move, and return to the organiser's page as each part of the carnival is released.
